My boys used to bring me dandelions. I put those in vases too, but yours are much nicer.Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09140530325649071135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8296105834039618441.post-64373737430959411472008-07-08T21:09:00.000-04:002008-07-08T21:09:00.000-04:00Yes, the orange flower is butterfly weed. It grows in abundance along the railroad tracks where I live (SW Ontario, CAN).

It does not transplant well, but it will self seed.

I think Erica is right. It is from the milkweed family. It gets very similar pods in the fall. The dB familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15170331499885879774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8296105834039618441.post-41302585270704934592008-07-05T08:19:00.000-04:002008-07-05T08:19:00.000-04:00I'm pretty sure the orange bloom is Butterfly Weed...I'm pretty sure the orange bloom is Butterfly Weed. My folks are in KY and it grows wild there, but it's very rare. The seeds are like $40/oz! Someone must be cultivating it to be able to put it in bouquets!!! It's a very pretty flower, and the butterflies go crazy over it!

I'm thinking it's in the milkweed family, but am not sure about that.Ericahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03359874671612343456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8296105834039618441.post-41735092385657296412008-07-05T07:35:00.000-04:002008-07-05T07:35:00.000-04:00How very sweet, thoughtful and lovely!!!SusanHow very sweet, thoughtful and lovely!!!
SusanSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11360047123820906113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8296105834039618441.post-7103930011985226992008-07-05T00:30:00.000-04:002008-07-05T00:30:00.000-04:00wow and wow! incredible flowers!!!*ps- I just caug...wow and wow! incredible flowers!!!

*ps- I just caught up on your blog- how I love reading what you have to say!His Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13615344417588586576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8296105834039618441.post-69980003661755449872008-07-04T19:52:00.000-04:002008-07-04T19:52:00.000-04:00The whole bouquet is gorgeous, what a blessed lady...The whole bouquet is gorgeous, what a blessed lady you are.
