My Best Friend Turns 40

Today, my best friend, and the love of my life turned 40. I feel like I get a gift everyday that I get to spend with him. Today, he took me to work with him. Generally, the birthday person gets to pick a special dinner. Whatever they want. I told Verne that I couldn't travel with him all day and make a special supper. He said he'd rather have me by his side. See why I love him?

Have you ever heard the saying that some things get better with age? Well, I know for a fact that it's true!

Since I was gone, Autumn cooked for her daddy. She made Taco Grande.

Yummy! And instead of cake, Verne always requests pie for his birthday. Since we have five birthdays between October 16th and December 11, we're usually tired of cake. This year, I pulled a pumpkin pie from the freezer that I made at Thanksgiving. It was served with vanilla ice cream for this special occasion. Good thing...all those candles really heated things up!

Can you believe that he blew out all 40 candles with one breath? Grandma says that's because he's full of hot air. ;0)

Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!

  4. Happy B-Day to your husband! Thanks for the comment over at my blog. I left a link there to the pattern, but just in case, I got it out of a Quilts and More magazine. Go to their website and search for Winter's Welcome. I'm glad you liked the snowman.
