Lucy and June

The children love to watch classic TV shows such as Leave it to Beaver and I Love Lucy. I love the styles worn by the ladies of that era.

I recently found this pattern for a vintage 1953 dress, and snatched it right up. It took me longer than anything else I've ever sewn, and I was fretting the entire time because the pattern is very fitted. It turned out so cute!

I considered going with navy for the placket and cuffs, but happily settled on white. I'm glad I did. It looks cute alone, but I like it even better with the white belt that I already owned.

I took it as a compliment when I tried it on and Collin got a huge smile on his face as he said, "That looks like a Mrs. Cleaver dress!"
