Oh I love the layout of your kitchen. I want a center island. And the way your cabinets come all the way around into the center is so neat looking. Very nice slideshow.
you and I had the same idea today :o) we both cleaned our kitchens from top to bottom! I love your kitchen ~ I can see why it is the "heart" of your home... so welcoming!
I had some things to catch up on. You have been busy! I LOVE that beautiful kitchen. So big and bright and CLEAN after all your work. Lovely, really. And such a good helper you had!
You son's music was wonderful. Such talent. We have a musician in our family too. A, our second son, is a song writer and singer, age 21.
I am so impressed that you have figured out the media stuff on your blog. I was so excited that I could change the header picture on mine. Wow, do I have a lot to learn. I can't wait to get techy. Great job! Thanks for sharing all of that. It was a fun visit tonight.
Ooooo, I love this kitchen! So big and roomy:) And I love the dark wood cabinets. We like making chipped beef gravy in our family and we do the same things with our jars!
I loved the kitchen and the slide show idea! Our current kitchen is tiny, but I still try to keep it clean and nicely decorated, because I spent quite a bit of time there. :P
Oh Ladies, If you could only know how the Lord has blessed me! I have always had a very TINY kitchen until this house. We're talking 8x8 feet with a family of six! I walked into this house, saw the kitchen and wanted to buy it. Verne looked all through the rest of the house and kept saying, "Come look at this!" I would shout back, "No. I don't need to. I love the kitchen, and I want this house." The Lord provided a way for us to afford it, and I am so very thankful!!!
Becky, I am so not techy! The slide show was very easy! Click on get your own, and upload photos just like you would to make a post with a picture. Caption them, save it, and insert the code into a post! That's it!
Thanks for your comments. Loved visiting your kitchen today. Such fun looking inside other people's homes, well especially if you are nosy like me. Have bookmarked the slide show site so might try and use it when I have a minute next week. My call to worshiop with the neighbours was wonderful as it was so spontanaeous. I am blessed to b e living in a street that has 16 homes from our church. It is a long story but we pioneered coming together to live as a community within a community back in the 70's I know what a blessing it is. Regarding your cookery books. I had the same issue and what I did was put a shelf over the doorway that leads into the kitchen. That way they are out of the way, acsessible with a stool and using a space that otherwise is nothing.
Great kitchen! Your organized drawers are begging me to go clean mine! I love the bar where the kids can sit! And I think I have the same refrigerator!
Ruth, Welcome to my blog! I'm glad that you have found me. Yes, there IS a story to the pointy spoon! I'll be sharing it shortl. I hope that you will visit again soon!
Tracy, I'm bringing up the rear again. Boy, you miss one day, and it's hard to get caught up! That's the coolest kitchen!!! I would like to have the sink you have, too. The chipped beef drinking glasses have been popular around our house for years, as have the pint canning jars!!! Frugality at its best! I'm looking forward to the pointy spoon post. We have ONE spoon from somewhere (?) that my husband loves to use for ice cream. I'm impressed with your slideshow, too!

Barbara,
Thanks for the tip about placing a shelf over the doorway. I'm sure this would look charming. I need to consider that!
