Little Man in a Fix

Autumn, Collin, and Abigail dance every week with a group who performs at festivals and the occasional odd place. Tonight they visited a nursing home and entertained the residents. The crowd was very enthusiastic.

Especially when Abigail and Olivia flew through the air during Little Man in a Fix. It went over so well, they performed an encore.

The last dance of the night was an open waltz, and Autumn convinced a resident to join her on the floor. I'm pretty sure he was the envy of all the elderly men in the room.

Photo Challenge: Yellow

I have to say that I'm not loving these "color" photo challenges. I've felt very uninspired, and this week was the worst. Just how many dandelions do you think we'll see this week? I think abstractly a lot, and wanted to capture cowardice. It didn't happen.

Instead, I took very obvious photos. BORING, obvious photos.

Well, I do like watching my husband work, but still.

This one is from my archives. We didn't really have any yellow food this week. Okay, maybe we did have apples and bananas, but that would have been obvious, too.

Photo Challenge: Spring

Back to including food! I made these for Valentine's Day, and have made them several times since then. If you missed them the first time around, it's not too late to make them now!

King Arthur Giveaway Winner Revised

Because it has been three weeks since I announced the winner of the King Arthur Cookbook, and I haven't heard from Cindy ( I tried to contact her as well), I've chosen a new winner.

Congratulations to Alice Harris!

Photo Challenge: Green

I had many ideas this week, but they were hard to capture. I wanted to capture Daisy because she is green with envy over the new guide dog pup, Gallagher. I wanted to capture a young horse, not yet broken, and I kept meaning to take a picture of money. Sadly, those ideas didn't come to fruition.

The tree reflected in the water below.

I think the last photo is a wonderful reminder that though Jesus Christ died on the cross with a crown of thorns on his head, He rose again, conquering death, and gave me new life!

Photo Challenge: Lines

Caution tape

When thinking about lines, the St. Louis Arch comes to mind, and so I went and took some pictures!

The St. Louis skyline

The Arch

More of the same, but it's very cool at night!

Verne by the Arch

If you've never been here, it looks very small from far away. It's rather disappointing actually, and then you get up close to it, and it's quite large.

At night, the light is constantly changing and reflecting in different ways. See my shadow? I feel like Where's Waldo.

And a few other favorites from earlier in the week. Mac,

and bread, of course.

The Toy Society

Have you heard of it? I don't remember how, but several months back I stumbled across the Toy Society site and was intrigued. I forgot about it until today when I asked Autumn if I had ever shown it to her. We got the idea to sew a few simple toys today. I plan to find a fun place to drop mine off tomorrow. This is fun!

Photo Challenge: Circles

This week's challenge lay mostly in limiting what to take pictures of. There are circles everywhere!

The above photo brings a smile to my face. This is a little "snack bar" that Collin has set up on his dresser. At least it isn't filled with candy! I love the graininess of the photo; I think it was caused by the sinking late afternoon sun.

Autumn's kitty, Casper, can be found wherever there is yarn. He makes it quite difficult to work on projects.

My sweet little Daisy with the pearls in her eyes. Her blindness doesn't stop her from
being playful, and she has one of her balls with her almost constantly.

Autumn

The majority of the photos that I post are untouched, but I thought it would be fun to change things up a bit this week. I took a picture of my grapefruit the other morning, and played with Picnik. It's quite fun!

This one was edited on Picnik, also.

I almost always have to incorporate food photos. I just. can't. help. myself.
