Tracy, thanks for the advice on the cute signature. I will have to try that.
My header is from a site that allows you to use "free headers" so they are all exactly the right size
http://www.freewebpageheaders.com/gallery/
I click on the one I want to download, and then right click and save it to my pictures. I can download it to the Customize section where you "add a page element" and just download the picture which is the header.
To make the title appear right on top of the header I do have to go into my html and make some changes. I looked for a tutorial but can't find the one I used. Basically, go into "edit HTML" and look for a place that has header .. and shows "shadowelement no". Change shadowelement to yes. Don't take away any other marks like = or " or ( or ), those are all language to the computer. Go down to the next section under that where it says max widgets=1 and change those maxwidgets to 4. Save the changes.
After you make that change you should be able to go into the Customize section and add a new page element of that free header up at the top that I gave you, and also the title of your blog, and just move them around to where they are on top of each other. It will not appear to be on top of each other in the Customize section, but go look at the blog and it will be that way. Good luck. This particular thing took me weeks to figure out, and once I did it was a piece of cake. I hope it is easier for you. You can search for "adding a graphic to your header" or "adding a graphic background to your header" and perhaps there will be step by step directions. I had found them somewhere but am at a loss now.
Funny you should want to make yours look like mine. Every time I go to your site I am reminded how peaceful you make me feel. I love the look of your picture of rockers.

Too funny! That is sweet of you showing that to Leigh Ann.
he he he - You know, I think I did remember that he was a parrot! LOL
The parrot on our tshirts looked nothing like a pirate!!
Thanks for doing this, you're a dear friend!! And you've put a big smile on my face this morning!
I agree. Gave you an idea to post today!!!
Thanks for sharing the photos.
Nice job! :-)
Regarding Giada's pasta dish, she makes some wonderful things. She and Paula Deen are great and I use recipes from both often.
The link to yesterday's storm pictures is on Yahweh's Retreat. Good thing your vacation wasn't this week!

Thank you! I did play with that. And it did work. But I liked my rocking chairs better too! Maybe in another season...
