A Blessing at Cracker Barrel

I was blessed today. I am blessed every day, but sometimes, it strikes me more than other times. I met my friend Tina at Cracker Barrel to return her daughter Ashley, and to chat over lunch. I had Autumn, Collin, and Abigail with me.

We ordered our lunches, and talked as we ate. Autumn asked the waitress for some sour cream. The waitress told her that she would be right back and whisked our ticket away. I didn't think anything of it, as I assumed that she would probably charge us for the sour cream. She never brought the ticket back. At the end of our meal, the waitress informed us that our meals had been paid for by a gentleman who had been sitting near us. I hadn't noticed him, but Autumn had. (She said he had two cute boys that were slightly older than her.) We were awestruck. He had already left, so we had no way to thank him.

Was it because he heard our conversation about Christian matters? Was it because he felt sorry for two women out with children? (I don't think this was it, because Autumn said there were three children at the table with him. ) Was it because Collin removed his hat and asked for a blessing on our food? We'll never know. But we were blessed, and humbled that someone, even a stranger, took care of us.

What a great story! Isn't it amazing how a gesture such as this makes us feel like the world might not be such a dark place after all?? Something for me to remember as I go out....
Thanks for sharing.

God is good and I am so humbled by the way He blesses us. Even without the special blessing of the kind stranger, the day was still a blessing just because our families shared time, good conversation and laughter togther! Ashley and I both had a great time with you guys...as always! :-)

That is a wonderful story! I continue to believe, no matter what, that there is more good in this world than bad, regardless of what we hear on the news.

I'm so happy for you. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

Wow! How neat is that. What a blessing.

I love Cracker Barrel. Even though we don't get there very often.
We are eating at the Ground Round tonight.
We're enjoying our little mini vacation. The kids are still sleeping so I'm quietly commenting on some blogs.

Our conversation and manner go far in touching the hearts of others. I'm sure this was the reason such a kindness was shared. What a blessing and lesson for us all. :o)
