Two Fun Ladies

I wanted to briefly tell you about two movies that we have enjoyed.

I recently bought Miss Potter, and Verne, the girls and I watched it last night. It was delightful! If you love the Beatrix Potter books, or just a good old-fashioned movie, this one is a winner.

Today, the girls, Grandma, and I went to see Nancy Drew. I was very pleased with this movie as well. Grandma and the girls agreed. She was smart, kind, and it held our attention well.

I am excited now because I am a huge Nancy Drew fan, I grew up reading those books-in fact I ruined my eyes reading by flashlight because of those books!!

I was worried the movie would be horrible, I will go see it now :)

Thank you for your sweet comment by the way :)

Thanks for the review. Beth has wanted to see Nancy Drew, but we haven't done it yet.

Oh, we just loved Miss Potter, and you are the second blogger I've seen recommend Nancy Drew. I just loved those mystery books as a girl. We just might have to go to that movie.

I always appreciate movie recommendations - thank you! I might have some time this weekend to rent one, so maybe I'll look for this one. Thanks!

Wishing you a blessed holiday!

I loved Nancy Drew. It was cute, and funny. I was a little disappointed because she didn't look how I pictured she would, but I got over it. I want to see the other movie, it looks good.

I loved the Miss Potter movie although her life was rather sad! She was an interesting gal for her time period, for sure!

Thanks for the recommendations Tracy! I wanted to see Miss Potter at the cinema when it came out, but didn't get the chance. Have you see Becoming Jane? That's a nice movie, about the life of Jane Austen. Hope you're well! Blessings to you.

I haven't seen either. But they both look good. I used to read all the Nancy Drew books too.

I am glad you commented on that! My sister and I want to go see Nancy Drew....(a couple of 40-something -cough- women), we read Nancy Drew as young teens and loved them! I love "good" clean movies....need more of them!

ooohh! I can't wait to see them both! Glad to hear positive things about these movies.
I had to laugh at your zucchini posts! MY grandfather also "accidentally" planted too many on several years. My grandmother gave them away, and gave them away, and tried to find new ways to use them, too. It got to where friends would tell her that she could come visit, but to leave the zucchini at home! LOL! I remember having zucchini pies at Thanksgiving many years. I like your recipes, and plan to try the cookies!

I have heard that Miss Potter is excellent. Thanks for the tip.

Also, my girls want to see Nancy Drew and I was hoping it was a good one. It is so difficult to find appropriate movies for kids these days. I'm glad you enjoyed it and we'll be seeing it next week!

Tracy ~ I'm off topic - sorry - but I wanted to get this information to you.

We just got back from the Lifeway store in Chattanooga. They are having a 50% off sale on all Life of Faith items (YES! the dolls, clothes and books)-- this week only (I think) nationwide (I think). I knew your girls liked the Elsie books ... I didn't know if they'd be interested in the dolls, but I wanted to share the information. Those dolls for half price is quite a bargain! I've included a link to the store locator.

Blessings!

I've been hearing so many wonderful things about the Nancy Drew movie and I of course loved Miss Potter too. :0)
Here's a question for you....a friend of mine pointed out that there is something missing from the front cover of Miss Potter. Can you guess what it is?

Kelli,
I just looked and NO, I can not tell, but now you have me curious!

Kelli,
Autumn says that it is the mustache on the man. Is that right?

I have been wondering about the Nancy Drew movie, so I am glad to see your positive review.

I think I am going to take the girls to see it while my husband is in Cincinnatti for three weeks. They will need the diversion, as will I!
