Wanted: Cowboy

As I was sewing this afternoon and finishing a skirt for Autumn, Collin and Abigail whipped up a Zucchini Quiche for supper.

The skirt turned out really well. I think I may be more excited about it than Autumn is.

I followed the basic principal from this tutorial, but adapted it to fit my idea of what I wanted the finished product to look like. This is a great way to use old jeans.

I believe that the tutorial suggests that you use your hip measurement + 8 inches for the skirt, but I doubled the fabric from the hip measurement. You achieve a much prettier gather this way.

Anyone know where to find a square dance this weekend?

I love this skirt too. I've tried doing something similar, but it didn't have the fullness that it needed-maybe I should have done what you did and doubled the amount instead.
Very nice.

By the way, did you have a "easy granola" recipe a while back??? Someone in bloggyland did and I copied it and can't find it now that I have the ingredients....:)

I love this skirt! I have 3 pairs of old jeans I will never wear again, and it does sound like a great idea to use them.

Totally loving this skirt, Tracy! I saw a skirt exactly like this a year ago - only the red material in your skirt was white - and really wish I had bought it! What a brilliant job and a great way of using old jeans. Plus Autumn looks fab in it. Maybe I'll have a go myself! Blessings to you :)

I LOVE Autumn's skirt! She looks like a natural. I'm catching up today, so I wanted to tell you thank you for posting the Mammogram post. I'm so glad that yours wasn't anything. I need to make my appointment. I've been putting it off.
I'm going to try the zucchini quiche recipe too. It looks wonderful!
Please tell Abigail that her skirts are very feminine and Alaina loves to twirl in hers, too.;0)
