Daisy, The Wonder Dog

We've had our toy poodle, Daisy, since the day before Father's Day. We've been working at teaching her some tricks over the summer. Here are a few that I thought you might enjoy. The video also features Autumn and Verne. You can hear my voice about halfway through as well.

Isn't she clever?
As I was viewing this after posting it on YouTube, Daisy was sitting beside me, head cocked. She begged to get up on my lap, and stared at the computer monitor, shaking, and listening. I'm not sure if it was because she saw herself, heard her name, our voices, or what. Pretty funny.

I LOVE your new blog look! Cherries are my favorite design, although I dislike eating them!

Wow, she is really good!!! I didn't know they could do tricks at her age. She must have awesome trainers!

Wow - she does great! :)

How precious!

She is so smart! You all have done a great job training her :o)

We used to have a dog growing up, he was a miniature schnauzer. I taught him all kinds of tricks. My mom used to play a game with us growing up where she would say "Howdie Doodie Mister." So instead of "Shake", I taught the dog how to shake when I said "Howdie Doodie". It was quite funny.

You've trained Daisy *very well*, and it helps that she's a little Miss SmartyPants. :o)

Our lab, Katie, was smart (in her own way). Her brain was housed in a small nut size area of her head and she disobeyed perfectly. We tried and tried to train her, to no avail. Even though she was dumber than a load of bricks, she had a sweet nature that couldn't be beat. She was our 85 pound lap dog.

Now...we have Tiger, the court jester. He brings 'disobey' to a whole new level.

Dogs have masters. Cats have support staff.

Daisy is so sweet... and so are all of you! :)) AND yes, she is very clever.

PS: I got a good laugh of watching my cat watch this video with a really smart look :P

What a smart pup! She seems to catch on fast. I think the hoop jumping was my favorite though. I got tickled that every time she tried to sit, the floor was too slippery and she always slid down. Oh, I like your baker's rack by the way, I've been looking for one, where did you find yours?

Christie Belle,
Our baker's rack is nearly ten years old, but it came from Meijer's.

That is so great. Did you get her as a pup or was she older when you got her?

Riley is 9 and we didn't do so well at teaching him tricks - he can do one - sit up on his hind legs to beg for a snack. Its not such a great trick, but he does look cute!

And, I'm finally remembering to tell you that Verne's comment about Momma Bear gave me a good chuckle - too funny! I think it is so neat that you can blog in the car!

Oh yeah, one more thing, a couple of my friends here at home have linked to your cooking blog from mine and have made several of your recipes! Just wanted to let you know that its being read and loved by many!

That was great! Thanks for sharing!

Leigh Ann,
Daisy was 8 weeks when we got her. She's just 4 months old now.

Wow, that's impressive! Especially for her age. Y'all must do a great job training her.

Of course Poodles are notoriously smart.--They're considered the 'Einsteins' of dog-dom.

PS--Love the new look! Your blog always looks so pretty. (o:

I'm about to change mine for fall.

She is adorable! And, she does her tricks so well. We have a Golden Retriever that we still can't seem to get trained. Y'all have done a great job.

That was so fun. Our cats know only how to show up when there is food around.

Your daughters skirt was so cute. Did you make it? By the way, why did I think you were southerners? You sure don't sound like you are from the south.

Oh, I had baked oatmeal AGAIN today and it was so yummy. I added nuts this time. I passed the recipe to all the women I work with.
