Food Presentation: It Should Look as Good as it Tastes
After eating Chocolate Zucchini Muffins for breakfast this morning, we figured that we better have a nutritious lunch! Autumn got creative with the food presentation. It was a hit!
She made Abigail moon and star sandwiches. Sliced nectarines, grapes, and raisins filled the plate.
Collin was awarded with a duck featuring a mustard eye.
Autumn made herself a leaf. How clever was that? Notice she gave up the raisins for Fig Newtons.
I decided to join in the fun and fixed myself a flower sandwich, with a pickle spear stem, and Granny Smith apple leaves. A dollop of mustard topped with a cherry tomato created the center of my flower. A lovely carrot sun finished off my plate.
Grandma didn't want a cut out. She just had a plain old-fashioned sandwich. Party pooper!
We did eat the crusts, by the way. I've never been one to cut the crust off of the bread for my children. I love homeschooling! Giggles from the kitchen, and creativity sure do beat school cafeteria food!

These are so cute! I can't wait until my kids can have fun like this with lunch - right now, we are just at the stage of slopping PB & J on the counter instead of their bread - but they love that *they* made it!!
How cute! I love how you and your kids have fun (yet learn) in just about everything you do :o)
Kudus to you for a precious blouse! It fits you so nicely, those many alterations were sure worth the finished product. It looks beautiful on you!
Wow! Those are all very creative lunches...very fun! I'll bet they were yummy too!

Those are all very cute! You are all so talented.
That was lots of fun. But I think that Collin's turned out the cutest.
And of course, Fig Newtons tasted MUCH better tahn raisins. Why WOULDN"T I substitute them? lol.
MAybe YOU can make cute lunches for us sometime.
Love Ya,
Autumn
So fun! I would have to take the fig newtons over the raisins too! Raisins are just "one of those foods" for me!
Thanks for the fun idea!

Oh how cute. This just makes lunch so much more fun (and pretty)! Presentation really does make it more appetizing.
So great! What a creative young lady Abigail is - and you are, too! I love homeschooling for the same reasons.
Love you, smiling friend! :)
That was the neatest thing! I know your kids had a blast! I am going to have to use this one!
Be blessed!!!
Now that looks like fun! :) So cute, and I can imagine how you laughed and enjoyed your time together as you made and ate them.
I remember how we did something similar in our Nutrition Education program this year. We were basically offering advice to Moms about how to convince their children to eat breakfast. Our 'smiling face' sandwich was a real hit!
Oh how cute!--And so creative!
And I just love your header picture, you did a nice job of placing everything, very pleasing to the eye. (o:

Very creative!
What a cute breakfast! Good job, Autumn!
And I very happily added you to my blogroll. AS you could tell, it was REALLY long and a lot of people I like a whole lot got accidentally left off.
Ok this is plain old sweet! Our family needs to realize how little it takes to brighten up anything!!
Jennifer
PS (a day later): I love your new look and header!
