It's HOT!
IT IS SO HOT.....
.....the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
......hot water now comes out of both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little chilly.
.....you discover that in August it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
......you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
......your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
STAY COOL
ETA: I wish I could say that I was clever enough to write these, but it was on an e-mail that I received!

Hey, Mrs K.
Did you write that? That is so true and funny! :) It is SO hot outisde! I can't wait until the fall!
Hey, sounds like Florida!
Actually, I am not even kidding on a few of them. I always park at the very, very back of the parking lots under the shade. It makes about a 15 degree temperature difference.
And when I take my walks at 6:30 in the morning I do sweat before I get to the end of the street.
But my favorite one was "the trees are whistling for the dogs"
Oh, that was a good one. I hope y'all had fun with those. I can see your kids getting creative.
"What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
This made me laugh out loud!
We are having hot hot weather here too. I tried to go walking at 8:00Am a couple of days ago and it was already too hot!
Pretty soon the snow will be falling...
That was cute! Did you or one of the kids write that?
We have had a bit of a break in the temps tonight - beautiful evening to sit outside and listen to the wind blow through the trees.
LOL ~ Very cute ~ I love these. Like Becky (and maybe this is a trend learned from Florida, where I grew up) I do park under any spot of shade no matter how inconvenient! :o)
So funny and so true! We haven't had a day below 100 here in about a week and a half. And, I really don't have truly cold water anymore. It is just sort of lukewarm. I'm so ready for Fall!
Goodness Tracy, praying that it cools down for you!
My favorite temperature is 56 degrees.
These quips are *funny*! hot pads to pull the worms out... haha.
those are so cute!
I can really relate to the 95 degrees seems chilly one. That's the reason I've been delaying mowing the yard this week, thinking... "on Saturday the high is suppose to be 93, so I'll mow on Saturday." Yikes.
Hope you have a great weekend!
These are hilarious!!
It's hot here in Oklahoma, too. 104 and 105+ Hate it.....but August is going fast and soon it shall be wonderful, beautiful fall. YEAH!!!
Susan

Ok, I am belly-laughing...all because it is SO TRUE!! I've never seen that list before, but I love it. =o)
I have to agree that it sounds like FLorida! I feel that heat!
That is the cutest string of sayings!
Have a blessed day! I can't wait to see what your finished rug looks like.
I saw one once in a crafty magazine especially made for the bathroom---made of recycled towels!
Thanks for always sharing your neat ideas!
Hi I am new to your blog and I love it!! It is so great to run across Christian wives!!!

I'm the one covered in a throw after the sun goes down.
Found your whole grain pancake recipe. Sounds yummy! Maybe I'll add some blueberries.

This poem is so fitting for how the last few weeks have been.
