Broccoli and Cheese Soup and Apple Fritters on a Busy Day

So often when I'm out running errands I find it easy to grab something quick and take it home for supper. Yesterday I decided to go the quick route as usual, but this time I headed home to cook.
A supper meal of Broccoli and Cheese soup followed by heavenly Apple Fritters hit the spot. It was much more satisfying than a take out pizza!

I've been making this soup for years, and the apple fritters were a recipe that I had seen on Garden Goose, and wanted to try. I contacted Tina last night, and she graciously allowed me to share it with you!

I truly love cooking for my family. There's something wonderful about a table full of people that you love eating the food that you've prepared. I giggled when Grandma held up her empty soup bowl and said, "S'more, s'more!" I guess she liked it!

I would love to come have a meal at your house. The food always looks amazing, and this soup and these fritters are no exception. I'd be saying s'more, too!!

I agree...there is nothing like sitting around the table to a meal you've lovingly prepared!

mmmm... I love broccoli cheese soup; and I love that your recipe uses real cheddar rather than Velveeta.

Yup--I have had a cold and found a 12 minute recipe for cheesy potato soup that I made yesturday. Then today--I was hankering for soup so much I put all kinds of stuff from the frig in a soup and it came out great. I posted them on my recipe blog at http://nannykimsrecipes.blogspot.com/ Think I will have to try your broccoli soup soon too.

We had brocolli soup for dinner last night. With homemade whole wheat rolls. It was our first cool night and we enjoyed the flavor. I think soup is such comfort food.

Thanks for your thoughts on the etsy shop. I have been just tossing it around in my head. Sounds like an option perhaps.

I don't need to "make" money really. I just wouldn't mind supporting my crafty habit if you know what I mean.

I just wondered if people really "shopped". So I appreciate your thoughts.

Have a great night!

Your food looks so good! I love broccoli cheese soup and those apple fritters look so yummy - I think THEY would be my main meal, with perhaps a spoonful of soup for dessert.

Deby,
You could use milk instead of half and half. I'm doing low-carb so I need the half and half, not the milk! I also used soy flour in place of regular.

My little ones just aren't sold on soup yet - they eat it, but not enough to fill them up. This looks great, and they love broccoli, this might be a winner with them - I know it will be with us!
