Cozy Swap Box

Sisters, Carrie of With All That I've Been Given, and Monica of The Homespun Heart, have teamed up again to host another swap. This time the theme word was Cozy.

I had a great time getting to know my swap partner, Beth. She is a dear Christian lady, and I know that if we met we would be fast friends. It was a little difficult to picture what Beth might like, and to know her "style" because she doesn't have a blog. She did send me a few pictures, though. One picture was of her gorgeous family, and the other was of her main living area, the kitchen. With these things in mind, I tried to create a box that would bless her. It was a little difficult for me, a northern girl, to think cozy for Beth, because she lives in Texas. Here's what I came up with:
Beth's kitchen is turquoise and yellow, so I crocheted her a turquoise dishcloth, and a yellow and white dishcloth.

She loves teapots as much as I do, so I made her a turquoise, yellow, and white tea cozy, complete with rick rack.

I included a jar of homemade hot cocoa, cups to drink it in, and some Russel Stover chocolates.

I also packed a cute refrigerator calendar, a vintage-inspired sewing card, a vintage 1930's handkerchief, and a wooden sign that said "Faith". Two candles in Christmas sugar cookie scent had the box smelling delightful.

The last item was a small book, Lists to Live by for Every married Couple.

I was so excited when my box from Beth arrived on Saturday. She must be reading my blog, because she really did a wonderful job including items to bless me. You'd think she had known me for years! The box was beautifully wrapped, and a delight to look at. Opening it was just as much fun. Each item was wrapped in a darling Christmas-y fabric, and tagged. Beth included:
*A small Christmas tree complete with ornaments
*Homemade Spiced Pecans along with the recipe
*French Vanilla hand cream
*a butterscotch cookie candle
*a CD of Christian music
*two adorable pumpkins with recipes for Corn Souffle and Pumpkin Cake roll
*a recipe for Baklava
*homemade pancake mix, the recipe to finish them, and a pumpkin mold to pour the batter into for special days
*a beautiful handmade peppermint soap shaped like a tulip
*gift bags for homemade goodies
* a tea-light candle holder shaped like a tea cup, and Christmas tea bags
and last but not least,
*a vintage half-apron.

I can't believe that she fit all of that into a shoebox! This swap was a real blessing to me. Thanks for hosting, Carrie and Monica. And thank you, Beth, for being such a wonderful partner!
