A Day in Our Home

Today being Election Day, there was no school. This meant a chance to sleep in, work on projects, and cross things off of my list. Upon waking I finished a project for a little someone special. Oh, it's so cute! Mommy's little helper might outshine her baking in this little number!

Next on the list: haircuts for the boys. At 9:45 AM. Outside. Where it was a mere 44 degrees. Brrr... My hands were cold, but I didn't have to sweep the hair up in the house. And they look much better.

After a HOT shower, I got started on another work in progress. Good sturdy fabric is a pleasure to work with.

After lunch, Mac studied for AP Biology, while the others counted their blessings of
homeschooling.

NO HOMEWORK! Well, it's all homework, but you get the picture.

I went for a haircut too, but I got to sit inside where it was warm and toasty. Maybe I'll share a picture tomorrow. Or maybe not.

Dinner was delicious. Baked ham, baked potatoes, cauliflower and carrots, and biscuits. Oh yes, and more gingerbread cookies for dessert.

Seeing my handsome husband smiling at me made the day complete!

You sure had a fun and productive day, even without school.

I love that little something you made for your helper. I hope when she is wearing it we will get the full picture. It sure is cute.

Oh, yes, the other project too. Do share.

Becky,
The apron won't fit any of my little helpers. It's for Momma Roar's daughter, Elle.

Sounds like a great home day. They are such a blessing to homeschooling mamas. I call them my teacher work day. Sort of a catch-up on everything day.
The apron is just precious! I'm sure she will love it!
I love the sweet smiling faces in your pictures, and yes, you need to put your picture up too!

I love that fabric, it's really cute, as is the dress. It sounds like y'all enjoyed a nice break from school too. I was looking back at the post about your grandma and the support hose. When I did clinicals for nursing, I had a patient that had to wear them, she was a dear elderly woman with severe alzheimer's. I battled with those hose everyday I was assigned to her and I hated those things. I always felt so bad too, she would yell at me and tell me that I was hurting her, but there is no easy way to get those darn things on. Having alzheimers made her a little "mean" or "harsh" at times, and one time, she tried swatting at me when trying to put them on...not funny at the time, but it is now, lol.

***Apron...not dress*** Sometimes I get typing too fast and don't realize I made a mistake, lol.

I love peeking in on your day - thank you for sharing, Tracy. :o)

While I am taking a 'break' I've been listening to your blog music selection. I turn it up loud so I can hear it in the kitchen. You've been blessing me...

Sometimes "no sit-down school" days are the best ones!

My hubby is the barber in our family which is good because whenever I have attemped to cut someone's hair they end up in tears. No joke!

Thanks for the peek into your life...I think it's always fun when ladies share how they spend their days. (o:
