Happy New Year!

I look forward to a new calendar each year. Something about the blank pages, I guess. No appointments scrawled down.

I've had Scripture, cats and dogs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and beautiful scenery gracing my kitchen cabinet for an entire year in the past. This year is Susan Branch. So cute!

Each year, I make the calendar my own. I go thru it, month by month, adding doodles before I hang it up. Hearts on anniversaries. Cakes with candles on birthdays. Each woman puts her own mark on her home. I know that when my family looks at the calendar in the kitchen, they see me there.

My in-laws are here, and we'll spend the evening enjoying good food, and playing games together as a family. At the stroke of midnight, everyone will be kissed, and then then the littles will be off to bed. And the biggers will follow soon after.

Happy New Year!

What a cute calendar! I love all things Susan Branch. I wish I had seen that one before I bought the one I have. That's a great idea to doodle little pictures on the calendar. Have a great New Year!

Happy New Year to you and your family, too! I "Branched" out this year and bought that same calendar! I have had a Mary Engelbreit calendar for as long as I can remember. This year, I decided I needed a change. I love Susan Branch's cookbooks and seasonal books, so I thought hers would be a good one for my kitchen wall.

I hope you have a wonderful celebration and a great 2008.

I love Susan Branch, they are so colorful and cheerful!!

I also doodle on my calendars-more for me because Laura Grace and layton are too little. I just like looking at the year and planning :)

Tracy, I do the same thing! I draw little pictures too. It's hard to throw away the old one, and I often look back over the year and remind myself of the happenings. I just tossed it this year, though. I'm ready to move on to 2008.
Susan Branch has the sweetest things!
I'm glad you all had a wonderful trip away, and safety coming home.
Enjoy your New Year! See ya next year!
Love,
Karen

Happy New Year to you, too! I love my calendars as well. I did Thomas Kinkade for years, and then I went humorous. This year will be the Cats calendar by Gary Patterson. I'll have to add doodles like you do. That's a great idea. HAPPY 2008!!

Ruth suggested that I stop by your blog. My husband is an associate pastor of music at our church. I'm new to blogging. I have another photo devotional page at

http://myra.lifewithChrist.org

Please stop by either page any time! I need some blogging buddies!

Happy New Year, Tracy!

Your post about your calendar reminds me of my Mom's calendar. Ever since I can remember, she's had a personal calendar in her pocketbook. (Although it's used so much that it's usually sitting on the kitchen counter beside the telephone.) It always has her color coated appointments and events. My Mom has the best handwriting, so anytime I see a calendar, I think of her.

I love that your kids see your calendar and little doodles and know that they are so important to you that they get a birthday cake or a basketball doodled for their special day or event. Memories they will hold dear down the road!

Have a great 2008!

Oh, how I love Susan Branch! I think I may have to get one with some Christmas money...
I love reading how you go through your calendar at the beginning of the year- what a sweet tradition! I'm a copycat, in case you didn't know...
