A Chili Supper for a Chilly Day
Verne was hard at work outside all day long. He's building raised bed gardens for our vegetables. Our garden is currently behind the house, on property that does not belong to us. Our builder has been gracious to us, allowing us to use the property for our pleasure. His father in law has even been kind enough to plow our garden for us. That being said, there is new construction taking place now and again, and we're fearful of losing our garden mid-season. We've decided to move the garden to raised beds on our property.
It was chilly outside today, but not cold. Still, Verne was happy to have a good hot meal. Chili topped with shredded cheese and sour cream. Salad with black olives, and hard-boiled eggs.
Hot crescent rolls fresh from the oven.
And a platter of assorted cheeses.
Everyone was too full to even think about dessert!

Looks yummy!
I made a crock-pot of chili for New Year's Day. We enjoyed it all week long! Hope you have a blessed New Year!
YUM. When are you bringing me some?
:)
Oh yum! That gets my taste buds craving some chili ~~ it's getting warm here now (in the 60s, and it was just 10 degrees the other night! craziness) ~ I might make a batch and stick in the freezer to pull out on one of those cold days.
Mmm! That looks delicious!
yum. what time do you ring the supper bell?
;o)
That looks like such a homey comfy sort of meal.... I think I may just copy-cat you for our meal tomorrow night:-)
Thanks for the inspiration!
Looks delicious! You'll have to let me know how your raised beds turn out. I want to try them, but as of right now, we're in this awful drought and there will be no watering for us this year. I hope your garden does well.
cute new look :o)
Delish!! What a great meal.
Next time you have chili, can I come? It's one of my favorite dinners. BUT, can I have dessert, too? :)
