Morning Project

Abigail was to attend her friend Abby's birthday party this evening. When I asked for a few gift suggestions, my friend Darlene told me that she would love to have an apron her size as she was always trying to wear her older sister's. It's been a busy week, so I just got started on it this morning. Yikes! Nothing like a time limit to put a little pressure on a person, huh ?

I considered making a simple bib apron, for the sake of time, but that just wouldn't do for this adorable little girl who desires to whip up delicious treats in the kitchen. So... off to work I went.

Abby's favorite color is orange. And purple. I couldn't find anything in either of those colors that struck my fancy, and was getting frustrated, but then I spied the cutest blue fabric with puppy dogs all over it. Abby is an animal lover, and I knew that the blue would look great with her white-blond locks. Sold!

It's a little busy, with all of the patterns, but cute as a button! And I finished it with five minutes to spare before we had to leave for the party! Whew!!!

A cute little pocket with dog bones...

I lined the apron with a pretty butter yellow.

Done! And she had a big smile on her face when she received it!

Hi, Mrs. K!
That is a beautiful apron! That will look so cute on Abby. Is she the little girl with blonde hair from homeschool group?

Persuaded,

I didn't make the pattern up. It's Simplicity 3701.

Cute!

Guess what? My daughter made my granddaughter an apron at Christmas time-- so she wore it to help make gingerbread cookies ;-).
