Vintage Hair?

Autumn was in the bathroom chatting with me as I was getting ready for the day. As I pulled my hair back into combs, she remarked, "You look very forties!"

I took that as a compliment. Later in the evening when Verne got home, he complimented my hair as well.

Combs are so easy, and really do hold securely. These pictures were taken at the end of the day. Have you ever tried them?

Yes! I used to wear them a lot, but I've cut my hair, so I don't put it up anymore. Your hair is so pretty and shiny!

Very pretty! My hair is very VERY thin, so combs don't work well for me-unless they are tucked into a twisted ponytail or something. I have a number of 1928 'vintagey' hair combs that I use that way.

Your hair is lovely. So are you. It has been quite a while since I have commented, lack of time, but I have still been enjoying every post. Just wanted to let you know!

Pretty - your hair and the combs!! I've never worn them but I've had shorter hair most of my life...hmmm, now that it is long...

Would she call my hair "vintage" because it has some gray? ;-)

I haven't worn combs in my hair in years, I guess I just forgot about them but I used to love to wear them.

Your hair looks so pretty in them! It's so nice that your husband noticed and complimented you on it too, he sounds like a great guy!

Hey Mrs. K,

Your hair looks so cute like that! I used to have some combs I wore really often when I was little. I'll have to try them again. lol

See you! =)

Very pretty Tracy! Combs just slide right out of my hair, it's so dead straight and soft, but I use other clips with better results. Your hair is lovely and so nice to see natural colour too!

Love, Tina :)

for some reason, I've never been able to get them to stay in my hair, lol

I'm with Amy Jo - they just do not stay in my hair unless I shellac them. :)

It looks nice - especially for the end of the day!

I wish combs worked, think hair just doesn't work for them!

Tracy, you and I could be twins ~ right down to the greys and the curls ;-). I use combs with reasonable regularity. I also use a bar clip for half up half down, or an aligator clip where I twist & use the clip to hold it with a cute little curl/spikey bit out the top.

I love your hair like that. It suits you well and looks beautiful.
On a side note, my mom used to always roll her hair and then fix it with combs exactly like that. I thought she looked beautiful too:)

The large combs are the only thing that can hold my hair ( besides large clips) I wear combs all the time!
Your hair is lovely by the way.

I haven't worn combs for a long time, but they sure look cute on you! I guess I need to dig mine out and try again. They are so easy to use!

It has been a while since I have worn combs but I love wearing them too! I also think the style looks like the "40's" and I love it. Several people have told me I look like my Grandmother when I wear my hair back in combs. I will have to go look for my combs now.

Your hair is so pretty and shiny! It looks very thick. I have been thinking about buying some combs to use, just not sure if it will hold in my hair. I have a lot of hair, it's just not very thick. :)

I love your hair style! Those combs are too cute!

Yes I have tried and I do love and wear hair combs. I will have to post a picture now on my blog. =)

Many blessings!
