Missing My Right Hand

Autumn left yesterday afternoon for a week long Entrepreneurial Leadership Camp. I firmly believe that women should be in the home, but I also believe that they can contribute to the family by having a home business. She's seen me with my Etsy Shoppe, and has started her own little endeavors. She's practiced her sewing skills, and is now baking cookies weekly for our neighbors. She turns a pretty good profit! I pray that this week will be a blessing to her, and that she hurries on home! She's my right hand, and I miss her already!

After we dropped Autumn off, we stopped in an antique store where I found two new (to me) treasures. I was so excited! I'm an avid quilt lover, and this beautiful quilt jumped off of an old bed into my arms. It fits a twin bed perfectly, but I laid it out on my bed after washing it and hanging it to dry. It's really gorgeous! It's all in 30's prints.

Yippee for me! I found a very inexpensive quilt rack, too. What a blessing!

I knew you would miss her a lot. The Lord will protect her and bring her home safe on Friday. I am glad you are happy with our finds at the antique shop. I love you, have a great day.

Love, Verne

I hope Autumn learns a lot and that the Lord will comfort your heart while she's gone. (o:

I know what you mean...I find it very strange when my daughter is away! I think it's great that she is learning some creative ways to bring in some pocket-money!

I am seriously jealous of your quilt. I love the grandma's flower garden design. Once I actually thought of making one, but that only lasted for about 2 minutes, but I do hope to find one someday that I can actually afford. If you ever get tired of it, know that there is someone willing to give it a home! :)

What an amazing find!

I'm sure Autumn will have the time of her life and learn much. And then she'll be even more of a blessing to you!

((Tracy)) ~ Bless your heart! What a challenging summer you're facing. I know how much you must miss your sweet girl. Your family is so tender towards each other, it makes any absence sorely felt. And five-weeks (*sigh*) ... I will be praying for you and your dear son. May both of your children come away from the summer enriched with knowledge that will help them travel the path God has planned for them.

I do love your quilt. This has always been my *favorite* pattern - probably because my mom has one like this that her mother made. Yours is beautiful!

I'm coming back later to read your "scripture garden" post. I want to have time to ponder the verses! :o)
