My Favorite Things: in Toile

I purchased a three yard piece of the most beautiful Toile fabric several years ago. And there it's been sitting, waiting to be made into just the right thing. I love this fabric because most toile is traditionally cream or white in background, but this one is a unique bluish-green hue with brown and cream accents.
Since I've tried this pattern already and wear the other two dresses made from it quite often, I decided this was the right pattern to use it with. I even have enough "scraps" left to make a matching tote.

I love this dress, too! And, I didn't know your hair was curly. I like it a lot!

Karen,
My hair isn't *naturally* curly. I got a perm a little over a week ago. I'm loving it! So easy with the pool in the summer!

I love that pattern and the fabric you've used is just perfect for it!

I just took a look at the pattern. My golly, I am three different sizes LOL. However, seeing how good it looks made up I'm thinking that I should put that on my little list for my BIL & his wife to bring home for me at Christmas time!

Very beautiful! And I like your curly hair too. One of the benefits I've experienced from my hair graying is that instead of being stick-straight, it is now wavy/curly. (o:

I absolutely love your dress. It's Marvelous darling!

Toni,

This dress would be fairly easy for a beginner. I did lengthen the sleeves by two inches.

Patricia,

The same company does offer a pattern for girls.

Very pretty dress. I love to find a style that works and wear it all the time :)

By the way, I do not remember seeing a picture of you with curly hair. I had in my mind that your hair was straight. Whatever you've done ... it is LOVELY!! No wonder your husband brings you flowers from the meadows.

Oh, I am so glad I saw your response to Karen. That answers the curly-q question. I love it.

What a lovely dress, Tracy! And I love the hairstyle as well! You look so pretty, and so does your daughter in her dress. It makes me want to find time again this evening while my husband is at a leader's meeting at church to work in my sewing room again! :-)
