Labor of Love

Baby afghan for Lydia draped over the cradle that my dad made for my babies

I went to work with Verne today. We drove 374 miles, and I crocheted from sunrise until we made our way back home again. I finally finished the baby afghan that I started last month. It's 28 inches wide by 36 inches long, and is just adorable. But oh, am I ever glad it's done! I didn't expect it to take as long as it did. Now if I can just decide to save it for the baby shower on November 1, or to give it now, as baby Lydia arrived a week ago today.

Oh, it's just precious.

Can I give you my opinion? I say give it to her now. She is gonna love wrapping that baby up in that blanket now that it's getting colder. Maybe knit some matching booties and a hat for the shower?

You pour such love into your gifts.

So cute! I vote for giving it early. That babe needs to be snuggled up in all of that sweetness!

Beautiful job, Tracy. I love the ripple pattern and the colors you choose. I'm doing an afghan in that same pattern in fall colors right now. It does take a long time to finish but your work is very beautiful and that baby is going to be as warm as toast in that wonderful blanket.

Blessings,
Dianne

What a beautiful piece of work! Wow - I just love those colors (and so will Mommy and Baby)

I love that blogging has a way of connecting people who would otherwise be total strangers. Thank you for sharing your heart on your blog. Many days, you post just the right verse or word of encouragement that I need to change my perspective on the day.

Hope you have a great weekend!

So cute, and such warm colors. I have a hand-crocheted blanket that was sent for our baby, and I just love looking at it. Whenever you'll give it, it will be a wonderful gift.

Gorgeous! I love the colors you chose.
But I have to laugh...when I first read the caption under the photo, I thought your dad made the afghan...then I realized you were talking about the cradle, LOL!
