Many Hands Make Light Work

I love to feed people, and I love to cook. Mac has asked me on more than one occasion, "Mom, why do you like to feed people so much? "  Honestly, I can't put my finger on it, but there's something deeply satisfying about preparing a meal for the people that you love.

The majority of my children have inherited this trait from me. The majority that didn't ask the question.

I'm thankful for a large kitchen that allows helpers to be present without bumping into one another.

Tonight we had a simple meal of Raised Waffles, sausage, and fresh fruit. Collin volunteered to cut the fruit.

Autumn cooked the sausage.

And I manned the waffle iron. (They're done when the iron stops steaming!)

And we all felt satisfied. From the cooking as well as the eating.

You know, I think this is such a blessing to be like this Tracy. It seems like so many in my area just meet for dinner somewhere...I find that sad...
NOW, I was very much like that before my fibro got so bad. I was just thinking about that the other day---I miss having my house full of oodles of people---such fellowship, at this point, I just CAN'T--and sometimes I just hate that fact...good for you...I am sure you are a blessing to others.

I love to cook! I do need to do a better job about allowing others to help though. I have a tendency to want the kitchen all to myself and really have to work hard at letting my children help.

That is a delicious breakfast. It is funny you mentioned "many hands make light work" as I thought the other day... how helpful my little daughters are! ( and big sons too ;)

I love cooking with my girls...Kyle is still too small although he likes to "help" :)

These are the things that are lasting...memories and fun are part of the solid foundation for families...guess what your kids will do with their kids???

What a blessing!
