To Market, to Market

During our visit to the city we drove too far down the street on the way to our destination. As we passed the baskets of bread in the window of this market I exclaimed, "Oh! I want to go there!" My sweet husband replied that we would go anywhere my little heart desired.

When we had finished our leisurely meal, and took our fill of the surroundings, my sweetheart kept his word and found the market once again. It was a feast for the eyes and the nose as we stepped in the door.

Everything was exceedingly charming, as I'd never been in a place so unique before. We admired, and told the owner what a delight his little place was as he beamed.

The atmosphere screamed, "Welcome! Sit and stay a spell!"

There were fresh fruits and vegetables, and meats and cheeses from the world over.

Dishes and mugs to serve soups and coffees.

Fresh breads and pastas. Olives, and pickles.

And wine to suit any taste.

Had we not been so full, we might have been tempted by one of these beauties!

It feels like a gift when you find a place like this. So glad you were able to enjoy it.

I think I would have had a very hard time passing up those pastries.
