Photo Challenge: Leaves

This week's challenge wasn't difficult for me to get into at all, as evidenced by the many photos included in the post.

Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year, and I enjoy taking in the leaves and all their splendor. I was afraid that too many of the leaves had dropped when I first saw the challenge, but it wasn't really so.

Almost every day this week was dark and rainy as you can see. It made for terrific outdoor lighting, though!

The above is my least favorite, but I still felt compelled to share it.

Our Cleveland pear tree is just now turning a brilliant red.

Inside things should be as beautiful as the outside, and when my husband mentioned he was hungry for apple pie, I replaced a solid top crust with leaves and acorns.

It was almost too beautiful to eat. Almost!

On a side note, my very own Autumn is coming to visit me today and we're celebrating her 17th birthday.

I am very glad you felt compelled to share that one, because outside of the first one, THAT one is my favorite! I love it's minimalist simplicity and bold sharpness. Love it!

The top one is gorgeous too-the colors are exceptional!

Tracy~you make the BEST food ever. That pie looks to die for. Yum. Andrew has been asking for an apple pie every day I work with apples, but by the time I finish up the last thing I want to see is another apple! AND~I am planning to make Turkey Pot Pie and I wanted to have pie for dinner AND dessert. Maybe tomorrow. :-)

Beautiful contributions!

Say HI to the most beautiful of Autumns~ and wish her a happy birthday for me!

(PS. My email address is sgrbear724@yahoo dot com and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to send me your address? When we unpacked for this house, I also unpacked an unmailed THANK you note for that treasure trove of books you sent our way. YOu must think me TERRIBLY rude and ungrateful! I am SO sorry!)

I loved them all! They are all great shots, but I must say I really loved the picture of your pear tree. The contrast of the brightly colored leaf against the green ones was awesome :)

I really like the perspective on your pictures, expecially the maple with the yellow leaves.

And the pie, well that "leaves" me absolutely speechless (and that's no small feat) :D

mrvelocity, I use a Nikon D3000. My VERY sweet husband took me to the store for my birthday last month and let me buy whichever camera I wanted. Me, being practical, and knowing that we don't have money to burn, chose this entry level DSLR, and I LOVE it!

Your fall leaves are lovely, Tracy. I think I like the ones that drifted atop your pie the best. :o)
