A Place to Rest My Feet

Jennifer and I took a class this morning and learned how to weave footstools. We started with a basic frame, and wove with Shaker tape. I'm so short that I have to sit in the recliner or put my feet up on the sofa or chair because they won't touch the floor. This is just what I needed.

How cool is that? I love it! Ok fess up how short are you? I am 5 ft 1/2 inch... don't deprive me of my 1/2 inch... it is important to me. lol Good job on the stool!

You ALL have me beat. I never made it to 5 foot. No kidding. I'm 4' 11 3/4 ". Maybe even shorter. I think I've shrunk already.

It's so darling!!! Would love to take a class like that. The place that did the rug braiding has new owners (its an antique store). Where do you look to find out about these types of classes? Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places!

So cute!!!

GREAT stool. LOVE it!

I was just looking through the Farmers Friend newsletter and happened upon some summer classes at a local home textile museum. They have basket weaving (something I have wanted to learn for AGES), cheese making (ditto) soap making, processing yarn from flax seed, sewing a wool cloak and felting.

So you see, the problem is---how can I choose?! I couldn't possibly do all or I would be there every other day. :-(

What a cute stool! I also have to find smaller chairs. I'm shrinking, it seems. ;o)
