My Mom always used Jelly jars as drinking glasses. We gave them away when we closed her home a few years ago and now we all wished we saved them. Joyce
We have this dish once in a while and my mom puts shredded cheddar cheese in the gravy to melt, though we don't do this at our house. I keep the jars too. :)
As a child I remember having this for supper, cept it was on toast and 'cept it had a slang name thanks to my military father. ahem.
ReplyDeleteI loved this dish as a child and I'm sure I'd love it as an adult so why oh why haven't I made it?!

I love anything cream on toast, tuna, ham and chipped beef. Yum!

I like those jars! Cute! We use mason jars for drinks here as they hold up to alot of use and abuse with the kids!
ReplyDeleteI also like the creamed beef, especially on home fries. Don't eat it often though.
I like to use Mason jars for glasses, especially with lemonade in the summer. So cute!

ReplyDeleteI haven't had this in years. My mom made it once in a while when I was young but I've never made it for my family. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteAs a result, I don't usually look at the dried beef. What brand do you use?
Karen,
ReplyDeleteArmour is the only brand that is carried in our area.
