Show and Tell #4

It's Friday again, which means we gather at Kelli's house for Show and Tell. Don't miss out on the fun. It's easy to participate.

This week I'm going to show you a gift that I assembled for a bride to be. Oh, the raves over this one! It's so very easy, and very charming. It's a cake!

But, it is made from bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths!

Simply fold your bath towels in half, and then in half again. Lay your towels end to end, and safety pin them together. Roll tightly and secure with pins.

The next layer is the hand towels. Fold these in thirds. I rolled these around candles to give it a little more substance. Pin.

The top layer is the washcloths. Fold these in half. Again, I thought it needed more to it, so I wrapped these around an empty toilet paper tube, and filled it with samples of body wash. Place all of the layers together, and run a thin dowel rod through the layer to hold it together.

Place a bath puff on top. You can decorate this however you wish. I wrapped a pretty floral ribbon around each layer and pinned it in the back. I also used small sprays of flowers, wired them together, and encircled the cake. The decorating only took about 10 minutes!

This makes a very pretty and useful gift! No wrapping paper required!

You sure did a good job on this and it is very pretty. I've also seen these done for a baby shower out of diapers with rattles, hair bows, etc. for the trim. Good ideas for two special occasions.

That is adorable! I have seen similar type things for a baby shower but not a bride to be. Cute as can be. Thanks for sharing.

I seen it done with diapers, too, but not this. BIG, BIG, presentation and very little time. My kind of gift. You're very creative, Tracy.
Blessings, and Happy Mother's Day!

That is one of the most gorgeous cakes I have ever seen. I am so amazed and impressed. Since I am already married, I think that I will have to have a big anniversary party soon so I can have a cake like that... or convince my little sister to get married!

Oh, that is gorgeous! What a sweet gift - I had made my sister a diaper cake for her baby shower, but I had never seen these before - I think if I were the bride-to-be, I'd hate to take it apart! I'd probably go out and buy towels!!! lol
