Tying heartstrings with a dissection kit

As I sit at my computer enjoying a cup of hot Earl Grey tea, I can't help but smile from ear to ear. I was blessed when the mailman delivered a wonderful package today.

Last Thursday, I did a post about homeschooling. I wrote how Abigail and I had dissected a flower, and what a wonderful day it was. Sherry, aka, Haus Frau, left me a comment saying that she a had a dissection kit that she would no longer be needing since her daughter graduated last year. [I'm sure that she was appalled because of the fact that I used a razor knife to cut the flower open. (0: ] I was delighted at her kind offer, and accepted.

She e-mailed me the next morning, and said that she had sent the package our priority mail. When Autumn brought the mail in a short while ago, she held a small package out to me. As I studied the return address, I realized that this would be the kit that Sherry had mailed. As I opened the package, I was greeted by a lovingly wrapped bundle. Who knew that dissection kits could be so exciting? There was also a sweet note, and two Earl Grey tea bags. Could she have remembered that I like Earl Grey from this post back in March?

As I carefully unwrapped the package, I discovered a beautiful handkerchief, and the promised dissection kit. What a lovely gesture. I was, and am, thrilled that Sherry took the time to make me feel special.
Sherry and I have been e-mailing back and forth for several months now. We find ourselves to be like minded, and even have family in the same area, although we live at opposite ends of the country. Today, seeing her handwriting, smelling the handkerchief, and drinking the tea that she sent to me, brought her even further into my heart.

Sometimes I feel very alone in my convictions, my choice to be a stay at home wife, and a homeschooling mom. Isn't it wonderful that God reminds me that I am not alone? No matter how far apart we are, I felt Sherry, and through her, my God, right beside me today.

How wonderful! I'm glad to know I can call her Sherry now! I never knew if she used her name in blogland.
I also love how she uses "hardt".
Isn't it exciting how many like minded friends we've all made here?
The tea and handkerchief were such personal and sweet touches, as well.
What a nice gal she is!

Like minded bloggers are some of the best friends. I felt so alone in my convictions of being a sahm until I found blogging.

It's so sweet that she put some special gifts for you in the package.

What a special gift for you. I know how wonderful it is to find friends in blogland. I know that I have found a few and it is lovely.

Enjoy your dissection kit. I can do the flowers, but I'm not too happy about the worms and such.

That is so sweet! I am so glad you have gotten to be good friends-this is why I love blogging, you can build relationships with people you would not have an opportunity to meet!

I love your title on this post! ;o) What a sweet gift from a blogging friend. And I am in complete agreement with the concept that blogging friends are real friends; I've found some of my greatest support as a homeschooling mom from online friendships as well.

How sweet and thoughtful! I know this will come in handy and will be fun at the same time. It's so neat to see people helping people through blogging.

Those pizzelles that Collin made looks yummy, but I've never met a cookie that I didn't like, lol. Awesome job on the rug too, by the way!

Tracy, you're so sweet! I'm sure you'll derive great use from the dissection kit - anytime you want help dissecting, just email me! I do have a few dissection guides: perch and frog I think..maybe rabbit too.

I didn't remember you preferred Earl Grey but sooo glad I guessed correctly!

I have some lovely handkerchiefs and try to keep one in my purse and bible at all times. The one I sent reminded me of you. :o)

(((hugs)))

I am so glad that you have found a dear friend whom you can share your life with. :) It always makes life's journey a bit easier when there is someone there to walk alongside you.
I commend you for being a stay at home mom and for homeschooling your children. :) It is not easy and it does take a lot of work. I just don't think people realize that sometimes.

What a lovely gesture. Sherry is so sweet! I'll bet that made your day.

And I *so* understand what you mean. Blogging made me feel so much more... normal :) In a sense that, yes, I'm not the only home-focused woman in this feminist world :P

What a blessing!
I, too, go through times of feeling alone in my convictions and I, too, am so thankful the Lord is Good, Faithful, and full of grace as He sends encouragement our way, just when we need it.
