HOOKED!

Yesterday morning, Autumn had an orthodontist appointment. From there we ran several errands. The girls and I are attending a Ladies Retreat this weekend, and we are to be making crocheted rugs. I went to get my supplies, and stopped by my friend Angela's house for a quick tutorial. Oh my... this is addictive! In just a few hours I've produced a 21" round rug! I'm adding more to it today...

It is beautiful - this is something I've wanted to learn how to do! I can knit but haven't mastered crochet. My mother in law taught me how to knit - I need to find someone to teach me how to crochet. I tried looking on the internet, but I can't pick it up. I need to be next to someone doing it and see them. Can you teach me? Make me a video? Anything? Pleeeaasssee! :)

Wow Tracy! I've seen these before but didn't know how to make them. Do you buy the strips of fabric, or do you have to make them from scraps. I'd love to make some smaller versions for kitchen chair pads if they'd be soft enough.
Yours is so pretty!

Karen,
Yes, you do buy the cloth is strips. These are cut on the bias so they won't fray. You COULD make your own!

And yes, these are very soft. Ooohh... I hadn't thought of chair cushions! I was thinking hot pads, coasters, etc. It actually looks really good sitting on top of my square coffeee table!

Thank you, Tracy! I'll have to look into these! I hadn't thought of hot pads! Cool idea! ;-)

Great idea! It's very simple crochet, isn't it? I just need to find the right fabric.

I love this! You are so crafty and talented. I taught myself how to knit, but for some reason, I'm all thumbs when it comes to crocheting. Perhaps one day I'll get a one on one lesson :o)

I can't wait to hear all about your retreat. It sounds like so much fun!

Cool. Love it.
I should learn how to crochet rugs. I've just crocheted dish clothes and pot holders.
