A True Friend!

Have you ever...

had a friend that you didn't talk with for several months because you were both busy, but once you picked up the phone, you could still talk to for hours?

had a friend that you could not see for over a year, and call them for an impromptu overnight visit?

had a friend that you could be with for several days straight, and still not have enough time to talk?

I have! My friend Sherri emailed me on Tuesday, and asked if I might be up for a visit the NEXT day. Of course I was up for it! She later called me and said that she would stay with her parents one more day, and drive to my house on Thursday.

What a blessing she is to me. I think of Sherri as my Titus 2 role model. She's 11 years my senior, and has been a wonderful encouragement to me as a wife, a mother, a homeschool teacher, and a godly woman.

I hated saying good-bye this morning, but for two days, I caught a glimpse of heaven, when all of the saints will gather, and rejoice!

Isn't it great to be blessed with a wonderful friend. I love how God lets our hearts connect even when time has passed between us. Sometimes there can be many miles between us and yet we feel so close that the distance doesn't even seem to be there. It's a sweet feeling.

Oh, yes. In fact, I have a handful of friends like this, all of whom I lived near for many years, and then moved away.

I am so happy you got to have such a special joy in your week. I know that the fun of that will carry you into this week and beyond.

Special bonds are a treasure.

I am so happy for you! I do have a couple of friends like that - one I grew up with, and one I met about 15 years ago - that are that kind of friend for me. What a blessing for you to be able to spend time with your friend.

I'm so thankful you and Sherri were able to link up and spend time together. How fulfilling, hm?

Bless you this day as you walk the walk, dear lady.

Friends like those are gifts from God. I've had a few like that in my life. I wouldn't trade them for the world!
