We Interrupt This Blog to Bring You an Exciting New Product...

Ladies, would you like to teach your daughters to sew, but have no idea where to start? Are you a novice yourself, feeling intimidated by the lengthy and confusing patterns on the market?

Well, look no further, because there is a wonderful, pain- free solution that has been developed to meet your needs. Not only will you be able to teach your daughter(s) to sew, but you will both enjoy the process!

Randi , author of i have to say... , and me and my girl, has created two beginner sewing patterns for mothers to use with their daughters. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and all pictures are in beautiful color. You will not be disappointed.

I've been following Randi's blog for quite some time, and I've been amazed at her sewing skills, as well as her devotion to her family. I was thrilled when she recently started her new blog, me and my girl, where she weekly shares projects for you to do with your young children. I was even more thrilled when she recently contacted me and asked me to try one of her patterns, in exchange for an honest critique.

The girls and I had so much fun as we worked on this project together, and the results were beautiful. I even branched out after the girls completed their bags, and made a bigger one for a gift.
See how versatile this project is? Change the size of the fabric, and you could have a handy bag for any occasion!

Imagine the hours of fun that this wonderful project could bring! First, your daughter could have the satisfaction of completing the sewing project, and then she could have hours of fun playing with the cookies at dress up tea parties, and playing house. These would also make lovely Christmas tree ornaments, don't you think?

Don't delay in getting these wonderful new products. They'd make great stocking stuffers for the upcoming Christmas season.

* Please note that Randi DID NOT ask me to mention this on my blog, but we were so tickled with the results that I asked her if I might share this wonderful news with you.

We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging. (0:

What a great idea! The first and last pictures won't come up for me though. I'm not sure if this is a problem on my computer or not.

This really is a wonderful idea. Lol, if I had kids, I would use it. I was looking back and trying to catch up a little, and I hate I missed your b'day, but Happy Birthday...late! It looked like it was a great one:)

And congrats to Mac, that is an honor, I was in the Beta Club in High School too. I know you are a proud mama!

P.S. Thanks for sharing the recipe for apple fritters, I will have to try it, we had some on vacation that were out of this world, so I'm looking forward to trying this recipe:)

I am intrigued...do you think it would help a mom that wants to sew as well? LOL

I would love to start sewing and have no clue where to start. Could you suggest some books?

I am going to visit the blog...

I think it would be neat to teach my boys to sew, so I will have to check this out. I noticed the "Dangerous Book for Boys" - do you like it? I almost picked up a copy recently.

Rachel,
Mac had some sewing lessons several years ago when we lived in Dayton. I think that boys should learn to sew too. If you bought the pattern, you could use any fabric for the bags!

We do like the Dangerous Book for Boys. Collin pours over it again and again, which was why we gave it as a birthday gift recently!

What a great idea as a painless way to get started on sewing skills! I'm afraid sewing is becoming a lost art these days. Thanks for sharing.

Tracy,

That's such a neat idea!

I want to enjoy sewing, but I find that I am easily frustrated and impatient. How wonderful that you're working on this with your daughters!
