A Scripture Walk through the Garden

varieties of sedum

The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come.
Song of Solomon 2:12

barberry bushes, lilies, geraniums

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys, as a lily among brambles, so is my love among the young women.
Song of Solomon 2:1-2

Asiatic lily

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Matthew 6:28-30

Endless Summer hydrangea

I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon; his shoots shall spread out; his beauty shall be like the olive, and his fragrance like Lebanon.
Hosea 14: 5-6

Stella de Oro lily

My beloved is mine and I am his; he grazes among the lilies.
Song of Solomon 2:16

Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like the flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
James 1:9-11

Hollyhocks

"All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever."
1 Peter 1:24-25a

Knockout Rose

As for man, his days are like grass,: he flourishes like a a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.
Psalm 103: 15-16

(volunteer) wild daisy

A voice says, Cry!" And I said, "What shall I cry?" All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the LORD blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
Isaiah 40:6-8

I loved the walk through your scripture garden, Tracy. It was simply lovely. I wish I were there to take in the wonderful fragrances that must be in the air.

The scripture was wonderful. God has so many wonderful promises in his word to lift us up and to remind us that we need to spend time in his word enjoying the garden of his presence and the beauty and fragrance of his Personhood.

Thanks for sharing,

Love,
Dianne
