Pearl Harbor Day

Across the country, millions of people are remembering the "day which will live in infamy". Not me. What I do remember is being in labor 14 years ago, and giving birth to my third child- Collin. I remember it like it was yesterday: seeing his adorable dimple-clad face for the first time, Mac and Autumn visiting me and bringing me gingerbread men that they made and decorated with my mom while waiting for their baby brother to be born, snuggling all three of my babies in the hospital bed and reading them a story, and feeling very, very happy.

Happy, happy birthday, Collin! I still love those dimples!

Happy Birthday Collin.

It is very interesting to me, how Americans continue to remember the tragic things that have shaped their nation. We have lots of tragedy in our history too...and yet we are more inclined to leave it there.

Happy birthday to your son! In our family, December 7th has joyful meanings, too: Don't ask me why, but my in-laws chose that day to get married 29 years ago!!
