Dance, Dance, Dance

Have you ever heard that Steve Miller song? It makes you want to tap your feet!

Collin has recently started taking dance lessons. And he loves it! He and a young lady from church take an hour long lesson once a week.

And then he teaches everything to Autumn when he gets home again.

He says I'm next.

I hope he doesn't mind if I step on his toes!

This is so wonderful! When I was little, my parents took dancing lessons and had friends over all the time for parties. They were always dressed up, the women always beautiful and perfumed. Mama and Daddy taught me and my brother to dance in our living room. Dancing is still one of my favorite things in the world to do and I have taught all of my children to dance. I think that ballroom dancing is a skill that young people need. And it is so much fun!

I'm sorry but I just have to say this warms my heart til nearly bursting.

I try and fight this horrible idea that once kids are teenagers they automatically become direspectful and that siblings wind up hating each other, or at the very least ignoring them.

I hate that notion. True, it happens. ALOT. But that is not because of some magic age pill~

But every time I try to explain it doesn't HAVE to be that way, people say to me "Just WAIT-you aren't there yet!"

Seeing these pictures of teenagers that not only ENJOY each other, but SHARE interest and fun gives me GREAT GREAT hope.

Your blog often does, as a matter of fact!

Have a great day Tracy!

So sweet!

Craig and I have thought of taking dancing lessons, but have not got around to it. I think that swing dancing would be fun!

Oh how fun! This will serve Collin well, far into his adulthood, for a myriad of occasions and reasons. And so sweet that he's teaching his sister...then YOU! :o)

Dance is so much like marriage. The man leads (no small act as he must know *how* to lead) and the woman follows (no small act as she must know *how* to follow).

Lizzie and MrDarcy began dance lessons 3 years ago and boy can they dance! Ballroom style - rumba, waltz, nightclub (not racy), east coast swing, west coast swing. So fun. They be taking more classes this summer. Two years ago they taught a class to a group of homeschoolers and parents.

Good for them!!! I took dance when I was little, and I've missed it ever since. It's one of the things my hubby and I plan to do when our kiddos get a little older.

Thanks for stopping by the other day! Enjoy the rest of your week!
