Adventure of a Lifetime

He's packed and ready to go. From home, to Chicago, to New Mexico by train. Collin will be gone for 16 days- 12 of those will be spent on trails, carrying everything he needs on his back. If you've never heard of Philmont, you can check it out here.

Tracy,
I found your blog through Mrs. Anna T and I've enjoyed reading it over the last few weeks. My husband spent a summer working at Philmont when he was younger, after having camped there as a youngster. He fondly talks about those months as some of the best of his life- hope your son enjoys the trip.

Have a wonderful time, Collin! I think I'm quite jealous of the train part of the trip. Twelve days on trails sounds a little grueling for this old day-hiker . . . although I know all that work will pay off in some magnificent scenery. (My mom is from New Mexico; it's a beautiful state!) Enjoy!

Tracy, my nephew enjoyed many summers at Philmont as a boy, and even went several summers as a young man to help with the camp. He really enjoyed his time there, and I believe that I can still evidence of its positive impact on his life. I hope that Collin has a wonderful, life-enriching time there!

That sounds really awesome. Collin will be making a lifetime memory. I attended Girl Scout camp several years and have many good memories of my time spent there.
